Richmond Hill Montessori was pleased to be actively involved in Georgia Pre-K Week, the first-ever event of its kind hosted by Voices for Georgia’s Children (www.georgiavoices.org) and its partners. The highlight was on Tuesday October 4th when Representative Ron Stephens spent the morning at the center and learned first-hand what happens in a high-quality early learning classroom.  While there, Rep. Stephens participated in a reading activity with the children, took a tour of the facility, talked with the staff, and got an up-close look at the many ways that the center is supporting early learning.

“We are so honored that Representative Ron Stephens is taking time away from his demanding schedule to spend some time with us,” said Audrey Singleton, Project director of the NAEYC accredited Montessori School. “We can’t wait to show him how revenue from the state’s lottery is being put to such important use in helping 4-year-olds from Richmond Hill get the skills they need in language, literacy and so many other areas that are critical to helping them succeed in school.”

Representative Ron Stephens and Mayor Harold Fowler visited RHM on Tuesday, October 4 as we celebrated Georgia Pre-k week.

Rep. Stephens visited with students and  read Pete the Cat to each of the Pre-K classes.   He also spent time with teachers and administrators talking about the importance of the Pre-K program.  WTOC education reporter Brooke Kelley was also on hand.  You can view her story at WTOC.com .

Montessori was proud to sponsor the 3rd annual national Night Out duck pond event.  We enjoyed seeing many of our families, present and past.  Thank you for stopping by and supporting Richmond Hill Montessori.

RHM would like to celebrate with our staff, families, friends and children our recent accomplishment of National Accreditation Status.  RHM has been awarded NAEYC accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children.  This prestigious honor is proudly achieved through the devotion and professional efforts of RHM’s most qualified teachers, staff and administration.

Montessori congratulates Lyn Seifert on her recent accomplishment of Child Development Associates (CDA).

On Sat. April 9, 2011, parents, children, teachers and families launched 150 message filled balloons into the air from our newly cleared site on Highway17 for our soon to begin new construction of our Montessori Preschool. This event kicked off the national ”Week of the Young Child.”

RHM was voted “Best of Bryan” in the childcare catagory by readers of Bryan County Now.
